Hermès Passant Long Wallet

Hermes

IMAGE: HERMÈS

If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen my flatlays and my 102,834 wallets, which should last me 29,132 lifetimes, give or take a couple. What I mean is, I really do have many, and the last thing I should be getting is yet another wallet. And other than something small from Louis Vuitton recently, I’ve been a pretty good boy.

That was till I laid eyes on this handsome beast. Trying hard not to break my resolve is going to be another supreme exercise in self-control, but I cannot fault this new wallet from Hermès in any way. Known simply as the Passant, it comes in two sizes, but the one featured in today’s post is the longer of the two that measures 20.5 cm by 9.5 cm.

Actually made up of two parts (this one comes in gorgeous Epsom calfskin leather), think general flap clutch (of sorts) on the outside, with a removable pouch on the inside. The pouch is also where all the action happens, where you slot in your cards and your cash, with an additional zip pocket for loose change and receipts.

Priced at GBP1220, you can use the clutch on its own, the pouch on its own, or both together, which is genius because you can mix it up as and when you like. Just don’t let me see this in town tomorrow or I swear this will become my 102,835th wallet. You know what I mean.

IMAGE: HERMÈS

If, however, you prefer something smaller, here’s the same Passant but with 2 card slots instead of the one you saw earlier which had 3. Also made of Epsom calfskin but in a colour called Flame, this one measures just 14.5 cm by 9 cm and retails for GBP1050. Yes, yes, yes!

We’ve previously talked about the Hermes Passant Long Wallet and now we’re going to feature the normal and shorter version of it. If you’re intimidated by long and quite bulky wallets, fret not for the normal version of the Hermes Passant Wallet is here to save you from your wallet woes.

The Passant Wallet has long won our hearts and this time its normal version made us swoon all over it the second time around. Ah, Hermes never fails to pull our heartstrings thus making us giddy all the time.

The beautiful structure of this wallet is one thing to swoon over but its the multi-functionality and practicality to it that made it to our list. Made from Evercolor or Epsom calfskin, it features a leather loop and flap. Now you might be asking what’s with the flap? Well, it simply tucks into the loop to secure the wallet. It’s as easy and as simple as that.

Looking inside, this wallet has four credit card slots and a change purse. Measuring 14.5 x 9 cm, the Hermes Passant Wallet in Epsom Calfskin is priced at €1200 euro, £1050 GBP, and the price for Evercolor Calfskin is €1250 euro, £1050 GBP via Hermes boutiques.

HERMES SPRING SUMMER 2017 RUNWAY BAG COLLECTION

Hermes

In the ever more sprawling, frantic, overcrowded schedule of fashion shows, it’s a rare and luxurious feeling to be able to slow down and examine something properly—and especially when those somethings are produced as subtly as they are by Hermès. Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski made an intelligent call when she invited the press to the Hermès store in the Rue Faubourg St.-Honoré to see her Resort collection softly tread the plush cream carpets—in espadrilles, leather basket-weave trainers, and all manner of refined, ankle-wrapping Roman sandals. To help encourage her moment of contemplation, she commissioned music—a performance by a harpist and Jarvis Cocker, who played guitar and spoke a piece of poetry that lingered over the names of flowers: “Crocus, cowslip, forget-me-not, anemone, honeysuckle ...” And so on.

It created a relaxing atmosphere for focussing in on the subtleties: fluted silk midi dresses with whooshes of godets flowing from the hip, herringbone linen safari suits, prints revived and reworked from the Hermès scarf-design archive, the high-waisted cut and leg volume of trousers, the piping that edged the cuffs and pocket-flaps of a raincoat. Vanhee-Cybulski said she’d been thinking about “The Clothes women wear daily” and 17th-century Dutch flower painting—the latter being less of a literal homage to the art than it was an influence on her color choices. “It felt like a natural step to show the pre-collection here,” she said afterward. “It felt much more intimate, and I wanted people to be able to absorb how the clothes are made.” Unfortunately, the pictures provided here were shot separately, and don’t convey the civilized sense of occasion, but suffice it to say that whether it was the use of a rope and tassel reworked scarf print on her dresses, or her deft way of placing a pair of marigold yellow pants against a shirt in a paler buttercup, this read as Vanehee-Cybulski’s most well-judged and successful collection yet.

Presenting the Hermès Spring/Summer 2017 Runway Bag Collection. Hermès presented their latest collection at the La Garde Republicaine which features white corridors. The neat catwalk brings in the collection‘s colors more alive which presents sporty styles, flowy dresses and clean workwear. The brand introduces their latest handbags this season. This includes the Cinetic d’Hermès bag, a boxy bag with top handle and a metal closure. The bags have chunky chain strap, which can also be seen in the micro bags that were seen in pair, made of crocodile, leather and lizard. Another new for this collection, is the Toupet Bag, a mini fringed bucket bag made of horse hair.

Hermes’s pace for designing and releasing new handbags is slower comparing to other brands. But when they do, it’s something big and impressive.

So get your wish list for next year, because we’re going to add some bags that you need.

A new boxy bag, kind-of a luggage-style tote bag. It’s small but with huge impact. The bag can be carried on your shoulder or by hand, even the bottom studs are stunning.

The center lock is adorned with the new ‘Hermes’ Clasp and we absolutely love that. The style is ladylike and it’s perfect for work as well as the casual days. The design is minimal, modern and above all… timeless.

This bag is available in normal leather or exotic leather like croc.

Uniqueness is what we can always expect from Hermes. Take a look at this new tote bag – round-shaped, small and easy-to-carry. A unique design and certainly casual but chic. We are really looking forward to see more of the interior.

What is really in these days are miniature bags with chain, they can either be carried or attached to your favorite bag. This creates some extra exclusivity to your style. The small accessories for the Spring Summer 2017 Runway are these small pouches or wallets with chain. They can be carried around your neck like a necklace. Simple, easy and transportable, maybe perfect for the evening?

So what do you think about this collection?

Hermes Spring/Summer 2017 RTW Plays With Pops of Colors & Fine Tailoring

Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski created a beautiful presentation for Hermès, unsurprisingly, and showed the Hermès spring/summer 2017 ready-to-wear collection in such a way that nothing could distract from the clothes that were shown down the runway. After seeing the collection, it is highly unlikely much could distract from a stunning arrangement of ensembles that hit multiple trends for spring and summer 2017.

Hermes Spring/ Summer 2017 Collection - Paris Fashion Week

The collection included ensembles for every need from work to play with interesting silhouettes that ranged from fitted to floating in colors that are bold and bright. The design of the runway boosted these looks, enhancing them as they shone down the runway with the audience sitting closer to the runways for the best views within curtained all white corridors created specifically for this runway.

Beautiful leatherwork popped up in skirts and coats with a visible patchwork feel. The enticing superiority that Hermès leatherwork is known for was also apparent in the shoes and handbags.

The Hermes work looks for spring 2017 had a high waisted and very linear theme, the silhouettes appearing long and lean. High waisted, loose legged pants and ‘80s era reminiscent tops are making a fierce comeback, having been seen on several runways and showing strongly during the Hermès spring 2017 ready-to-wear show. The broader, pad enhanced shoulders featured pockets enhanced with diagonal zippers, and many were tucked neatly into the high waisted pants.

The very popular fashion trends that have emerged during the fashion month for spring and summer 2017’s ready-to-wear were very present during the Hermes spring 2017 runway show. The use of bright and vibrant yellow up in six of the 46 gasp-inducing ensembles was refreshing. Bright yellow was also featured in the handbags.

Fuchsia has also been making a very bright splash as an upcoming trend, and Hermès has two ensembles featuring this color for the new collection. Not every trend made an appearance on this runway and the majority of the collection featured a lot of muted colors and quite a few ensembles in a greyish green.

It is, however, extremely apparent that Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski wanted a few trends to be present in the Hermès spring 2017 show. The interplay between menswear and womenswear was also seen in several of the ensembles as this is a trend that will be seen a lot this upcoming spring and summer.

The knitwear looked soft and elegant in fit and flared midi dress silhouettes. A pleated skirt was printed yet demur, it looked beautiful and simplistic but could easily be fit into several different wardrobe genres with little effort.

One of the hallmarks of Hermès is their leatherwork and their leather pieces were practically magic. One coat in particular – a darker, A-line cut patchwork trench coat with a brown belt was a stunningly beautiful piece of leather work, done with the same patchwork design that let the colors of the outfit beneath peek through.

To be fair, Hermès is not a brand about following or setting trends but about a high level of chicness that cannot be denied.

HERMES DESIGNS A STUNNING SCARF FOR A NOBLE CAUSE

Hermes

landscape-1452023989-hbz-hermes-scarf-index1

Even in its philanthropic causes, Hermès continues to create magic with its design. Not that it surprises us. The latest design from the French fashion house is a collaboration with Panthera, the global wild cat conservation organization (founded in 2006 by Tom Kaplan and his wife Daphne Recanati Kaplan), to honor the work of wildlife artist Robert Dallet and raise awareness for eight species of big cats: Tiger, Lion, Jaguar, Snow Leopard, Leopard, Cheetah, Cougar and Clouded Leopard.

The fierce and fabulous Hermès Exceptional Silk Scarf: Carré Couture will feature Robert Dallet’s original sketches as reference. Eight artists worked in tandem to transpose the design to twenty-four individual printing frames which was then used to transfer the images onto silk twill at the Hermès atelier in Lyon, France. The entire engraving process took 1,400 hours of handwork. Following that, they were hand-embroidered with glasswork pearls, crystals and emeralds.

The initiative will include a presentation of Fierce and Fragile: Big Cats in the Art of Robert Dallet at The Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Connecticut from January 10 to March 13, 2016 where 75 of Dallet’s paintings, drawings, and sketches will be presented by Hermès and Panthera. The fashion brand will also unveil six handcrafted one-of-a-kind objects to be auctioned off by Sotheby’s during a gala dinner on January 8, with proceeds directed toward the Robert Dallet Initiative for Wild Cat Conservation.

The scarf’s retail price was marked at $48,000, but will be sold to the highest bidder at the gala event.

8 Reasons Why We’ve Gone Hermes Kelly Crazy

Hermes

Although it’s a love that can never be fully explained, PurseBop is going to try to officially explain some of the reasons why #PurseBopsGoneKellyCrazy. Hermes has some bags that we simply can’t get over. We’ve previously explored 8 reasons why the Hermes Birkin is the Ultimate Holy Grail Bag. Today, we’ve got 8 convincing reasons why you should be Kelly Crazy too!

@happybaggage, @byaliaa, @nadjasnowflake, @pursebop, @mrslulu3. @hnr202, @orangeholicsanonymous, @missypalette, @ms_lucandil

1. It's a Hermes Masterpiece

Down to every little accessory, Hermes lives up to its reputation of excellence in craftsmanship. However, the Kelly is a paragon of Hermes’ achievements and capabilities. The ingenuity of design and painstaking work put into the making of the Kelly truly has to be appreciated.

2. It Brings Out Our Inner Grace Kelly

Elegant. Feminine. Classic. The Hermes Kelly is impossibly chic. We can’t help but channel Grace Kelly when toting the bag. Wearing a K makes you feel like you’ve got it all together.

1956-Original-Kelly-Bag

3. The Kelly is Just Too Pretty

Believe it or not, we don’t mean this in just a superficial way. The beautiful structure, rich colors, and luxe leather of a Kelly make the bag come to life with character. The Kelly speaks for itself and emits its own radiance. But yes, we just love LOOKING at it! Whether it is in  retourne or sellier style, the Kelly stands with striking stature.

4. The search for the "Elusive Kelly" only intensifies our craze

The Birkin gets the rep for being Hermes’ “needle in a haystack” bag. However, the Kelly is equally, or even more rare in some cases, due to limited quantities and high desirability. Many people get offered Birkins way before any word on their preferred Kellys. It is often a misconception that the Kelly is easier to shoot for in the Hermes game. Hermes SAs are working with limited stock, and above all, are looking to find a great recipient and home for each H bag. The wait for a Kelly can be as long and anxious as a wait for a Birkin. Let’s face it – we all want what we can’t have, so cue more Kelly craziness!

One Kelly in a sea of Birkins ~ @cindylestari

5. We all love playing the "B or K?" game

When it comes to bags, the Birkin and the Kelly are undoubtedly Hermes’ two shining stars. Due to more media presence, the Birkin has a slightly stronger legacy and more people gravitate towards it as their “ultimate holy grail bag”. However, the Kelly in no way, shape, or form is “second best”. The Birkin is not necessarily the end all, be all, and many fashionistas greatly prefer the K over the B. Embrace your Kelly craziness and claim your spot on TEAM KELLY. That being said, full support and fair play for Team Birkin too – everyone wins in the Hermes faceoff!

6. Climbing the H Hierarchy: We need the Golden "H" stamp

Even if you’re completely new to the brand or an avid collector, if you’ve had your sights set on your dream K but haven’t found it yet, the thirst unbearably continues. Finally getting your hands on the perfect Kelly is the ultimate Hermes validation, and a battle won in itself in the ever unpredictable H game. A Kelly win feels like an opening to more K and B delights.

7. The Kelly will be a true gem in your collection

We all love bags, and we all wish for many, many more bags. However, can we make the claim that the Hermes K can be the bag for you? The Hermes Kelly is a classic, and even as one bag alone, can elevate your whole collection. It can be an everyday go-to or brought out for special occasions. Due to its desirability, the Kelly as an investment, can hold its value just as well as a Birkin.

8. The Kelly Does It All

From formal to casual, the Kelly works for every occasion because it was designed with a woman’s needs and feminine aesthetic in mind.

Apple Watch Hermès

Hermes

I have two very serious addictions (as the hubby and the boy will attest to) — one is Hermès and the other is Apple. I am NEVER without something from either of the brands. My iPhone and Apple Watch are literally extensions of my hands, and well, you know my love of all things Hermès! Though at first a collaboration between companies from such different worlds seems unusual, it actually makes a lot of sense. Both subscribe to the highest standards in craftsmanship and innovation — one in old-world luxury and the other in modern technology. And each one elicits frenzy from fans whenever it announces a new product.

Make no mistake, this watch is as meticulously crafted as anything else from Hermès. The three different styles of leather straps are handmade by Hermès artisans in France, and an Hermès watch face reinterpreted by Apple designers in California comes along with each. When Apple approached the company about the collaboration, they had to bow down to the holy grail of all luxury houses; with Hermès-exclusive faces used, there is no Apple branding visible whatsoever!

Allowing Hermès’ symbols to upstage Apple’s is a first, Apple Design Chief Jony Ive said in an interview with the WSJ. “I’ve been at Apple 23 years and this is conspicuous and singular. I’ve never known anything like this,” he elaborated. The bands are only available when bought alongside a new stainless steel Hermès Apple Watch, so don’t think you can just pick up a new band for your plain old iWatch — you’ll have to go all in. Prices start at $1,100 for a single band, $1,250 for the double tour, and $1,500 for the cuff (price includes the Hermès watch). Available colors are Etain, a deep grey; Fauve, a luggage brown; Capucine, a gorgeous burnt orange/red; Noir; and the classic Bleu Jean. I’m getting the Capucine Double Tour. What about you? Available at select Hermès and Apple stores on October 5th. Get more info on the Apple Watch Hermès here.

HERMES APPLE WATCH

Hermes

Hermes-Apple-Watch

The perfect blend – Hermes selling one of the most expensive fashion accessories in the world and Apple…you know, they’re just selling high-ticket technologies. And when these two brands walk arm on arm, you get the Hermes Apple Watch.

Not-so-easy-to-find, like always… these watches are only sold in few of Apple and Hermes retail stores. If you don’t grab one soon, you might miss the bus.

What’s so hot about it? Well, first you get the best technology watch in the world. And it’s so much more than a ticking machine. Then Hermes put a handmade leather strap on it, making it fashionable and trendy. And you know what they say right? Any watch above $50 USD is not a watch anymore, it’s a jewelry.

The price starts at $1100 USD and can go up to $1500 USD. The 42mm single strap option is available in noir and gauvre (black and brown). The Capucine (red) strap is available in size 38mm.

For those hunting for the iconic Hermes double strap, you will be paying $1250 USD. The colors available are teal, red, grey and brown, but they’re only offered with the 38mm size. Another watch with The Cuff, which comes in extra large leather strap for the 42mm size, is priced at $1500 USD.

Read more about it here.
